Through it all, however, we have found joy.

Our pastor, Bruce Frank, just finished a series on Joy from the book of Philippians. Each of the messages were so relevant to my life at that very moment and gave me ample "food" to chew on during the week.

Here are a few highlights...

~ Phillipians 1:12-19 - Even though Paul was in chains, he counted it joy. I can safely say that most of us would find ourselves depressed and grumbling that we were bound and not able to experience freedom. Paul found a freedom in his chains and counted it joy. He rejoiced that each day he had a new audience in the form of guards to hear the message of the Good News of Jesus Christ. They couldn't go away, they had to stay with him, it was a captive ear. The point of this sermon was that no one can steal your joy, only you can give it away. And even when times are tough or look different that you thought they would, you can still choose joy. Romans 8:28 - and we know that ALL things work together for good for those who love God. The choice you have to make is that He will bring the situation to a conclusion that brings Him glory. Do I want to be part of that and find joy in the process?

~ Phillipians 2:3-7 Do nothing with selfish ambition (building yourself up at the expense of someone else) for if you act like this it is a recipe for disaster! But, with humility of mind, let each esteem others better than himself. Some Level 5 leaders were interviewed and the greatest common thread between them all was that they didn't like attention towards themselves but wanted the good of the company to prevail. See, God's Plan A is humility (voluntarily) which unfortunately makes His Plan B is humiliation. It's so easy to become haughty and think that we deserve things or earned it. But if we look at the cross and really examine the fullness of what He did, how can we be so arrogant? We need to take off selfishness/arrogance and choose to pursue selflessness which produces joy. A great quote from the message is you are as deep theologically as the last person you served.

~ Phillipians 4:2-8 Be anxious for nothing but in prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Is God or your circumstances bigger? In life, we need to take some steps, but leave the rest up to Him. There are just some things we can not control. A great prayer to pray is God I can't control this and I'm sorry I tried - casting all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. Get away from the anxiety and run back to intimacy with Him.

~ Phillipians 4:10-14 Learning to be content. In a world that teaches us to covet (wanting things bad enough in the wrong time and for the wrong reason, saying God's provision is not enough), it is challenging to be content (a satisfaction of God's adequate provision for my life right now). Learn to say I'm satisfied with God's provision for my life right now. Break the cycle of coveting and come to the realization that that you are a steward and not the owner. Be content.

"Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day."

-Henri Nouwen

My Square Foot Garden

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/SCoZr1_zTSI/AAAAAAAAAKs/0kynznvc88g/s320/Square+Foot+Garden.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5199996960772410658" />
When i was in Bangladesh in 2000, I was told that the country was so poor due mostly to the fact that they don't have any exports. I was also told that they had plenty of land to plant, but they didn't cultivate the land very effectively. Since that time, I have wanted to learn how to garden. I don't have a very green thumb, but I'm going to give it my best effort. Plus, I just love fresh veggies and fresh herbs for cooking.

My friend, Tara, told me about the All New Square Foot Gardening book by Mel Bartholomew. He uses a super mix of ingredients in the soil that enables you to plant in a smaller space. The ingredients are compost - to keep plants nourished, peat moss - to keep soil moist and vermiculite - to keep soil airy. So, the idea is that with these 3 components, roots don't need to go as deep. Therefore, the garden is only 6" deep! The garden can include a bottom which means it can be made anywhere (on a veranda, patio, deck, roof for those overseas or in cities, etc.) The other cool thing about this garden is that you can grow vine crops vertically saving heaps of room using a simple trellis.

I decided to construct the box out of plastic fencing due to the fact that I built it against the house (don't want termites!!). I'm doing a 2'x8' with 16 squares. Here is what I'm planting... tomatoes (round and roma), cucumbers, peppers (red and green), yellow squash, corn, oregano, basil, chives and some flowers to keep the bugs away. Pretty impressive, hey?!

I'm looking forward to seeing the garden grow and flourish. Maybe someday, I can use this design overseas. YUM!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/SCoZ4l_zTTI/AAAAAAAAAK0/QCLjxtFv-BI/s320/FrontCovershada.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5199997179815742770" />

The GO Concert/Alive Launch

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/SAaOjLN3ELI/AAAAAAAAAJs/E3XDsthE-yk/s320/home-album.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5189992355548565682" />
Tonight we launched The GO Concert and Lucas' new album Alive. Luke 19:25

The disciples fled to save their lives. Mary was kneeling in the shadow of the cross, weeping, screaming in anguish as her firstborn Son hung naked and bloody. The ominous thunder was crowded out by Jesus' agonizing cry, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"

Mary sobs, "Why, God? Why? Why have You forsaken Him? Why have You forsaken me? He was supposed to deliver all of us. He was our salvation and now He's gone. If You really loved us why would You allow this?"

Unable to See the Big Picture

Mary's anguished heart bled under the shadow of a Roman cross, powerless to intervene. Her Son and her prophetic promises were dying. She had no revelation of the resurrection. She couldn't see the raging demonic battle with Jesus, the mighty warrior, snatching the keys of death and hell by the power of His shed blood. After waiting for thirty-three years, everything was dying--it looked like complete and utter failure.

With Jesus in the prime of His life and in the midst of a tremendous revival, He's dying on the cross--and so is Mary. She was in a crisis of faith, and the Father had turned His face away. She was devastated and felt abandoned and betrayed.

Are you in a midlife crisis? Mary was in her late forties when her whole world caved in. We want to believe that the Lord will rescue us at the last moment, but often His plan is to crucify us. Everything dies at the cross: Your relationships, ministry, agendas, reputation, finances--stripped bare for all to see. No one dies gracefully.

Persevering through the Fire to Come Out As Gold

As you hit bottom, you hear the tormenting voice of the enemy whispering, "Your life is almost over and you have nothing to show for it. Where is your God now?" But as God takes you through these hot, purifying fires, He works gold in the depth of your being. He gives you a love that can't be quenched by despairing circumstances. The challenge is to really believe in the goodness of God.

If you cry out to be part of the Bride, then you need to be identified with the sufferings of the Cross. In the midst of great agony and pain, when no one is there, Jesus holds you. A deeper intimacy of bridal love takes place as you cling to Him during horrendous times of suffering. We all need to cry out in total surrender, "Lord, I've nowhere to go. You're my all in all."

Resurrection

"Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. And they said to one another, 'Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?' So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together saying, 'The Lord is risen indeed...'" Luke 24:31-34

Jumping up and down with ecstatic joy, Mary burst out, "He's alive! He's risen!"

"When I heard those words, my heart nearly burst as I ran to see for myself. I thought I cried all my tears on Golgotha, but when our eyes met, it was like a flood. As I ran into His open arms, He scooped me up and spun me around in joyous laughter.

"These times we shared were the most precious of my whole life. That made it easier to release Him--again. As I watched Him ascend, I prayed again, 'Lord, be it unto me as You will, for the rest of my life.'"

Resurrection of Broken Dreams

Out of great death, comes great life! Mary's prophetic promises were limited by her worldview. She saw Jesus as King of the Jews over the little nation of Israel during her life. In reality, He was King of Kings and Lord of Lords for all people and all time. At the Cross, He crucifies our limited view concerning the fulfillment of our prophetic destiny and resurrects it to His eternal view. The Lord revives broken dreams, but they rarely look like we expect them to.

"Explosions of glory! The tangible presence of the Holy Spirit! Now, it was not just me who was overshadowed, but all one hundred twenty of us. Tongues like fire fell and we were gloriously baptized in the Holy Spirit. We couldn't keep the news to ourselves and we ran, pushing each other out the door and down the narrow staircase to tell everyone."

"We were so excited that we gave ourselves to prayer night and day, sharing all we had, and loving each other so much. We grew from one hundred twenty to three thousand to five thousand! Signs, wonders and miracles followed as we told everyone about Jesus. It should be easy to grow the Church until we see Jesus coming again in the clouds."

The Power of The Holy Spirit

They were baptized in the Holy Spirit and the Church was set ablaze--just like the Lord wants your life to be ignited now. They received the gifts of tongues and the courage to be radical and passionate lovers of Jesus Christ. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit was, and still is, a ministry of multiplication, intimacy and partnership.

When the Holy Spirit moves through you, it's not just for your benefit, but it's to bring conviction, salvation, healing and deliverance to suffering humanity. Mary was a carrier of the glory of God. Are you willing to be a carrier to bring the glory to your family, neighborhood and workplace? Are you willing to birth revival?

Gospel Spread Through Warfare

It was anything but easy for Mary and the early Church. Martyrdom and persecution scattered the believers, resulting in the spread of the Gospel to other nations. Mary's journey on earth continued not only with revival, but also seasons of tremendous warfare--cycles of life and death, maturing her toward bridal love.

Prayer: Lord, thank You that You resurrect our promises into something so much bigger than anything we could ever imagine. Thank You that when the seed falls to the ground and dies, You spring forth a harvest of righteousness and peace. You shatter our expectations with Your goodness. I love You, Jesus.

Jill Austin
Master Potter Ministries
Email: info@masterpotter.com

Who Is Happier?

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/R-HUfG8vljI/AAAAAAAAAIs/yfUivMf8oRQ/s320/images.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5179654677359203890" />
UK Study Finds People Who Believe in God are Happier than Agnostics or Atheists
Teresa Neumann (March 19, 2008)

(United Kingdom)—Research conducted by a study led by Professor Andrew Clark and Dr. Orsolya Lelkes called "Deliver Us From Evil: Religion as Insurance" has found that people who believe in God are happier than agnostics or atheists. But for all his celebrity, his life remains somewhat of a mystery. Many of the stories traditionally associated with St. Patrick, including the famous account of his banishing all the snakes from Ireland, are false, the products of hundreds of years of exaggerated storytelling.

Taken Prisoner By Irish Raiders
It is known that St. Patrick was born in Britain to wealthy parents near the end of the fourth century. He is believed to have died on March 17, around 460 A.D. Although his father was a Christian deacon, it has been suggested that he probably took on the role because of tax incentives and there is no evidence that Patrick came from a particularly religious family. At the age of sixteen, Patrick was taken prisoner by a group of Irish raiders who were attacking his family's estate. They transported him to Ireland where he spent six years in captivity. (There is some dispute over where this captivity took place. Although many believe he was taken to live in Mount Slemish in County Antrim, it is more likely that he was held in County Mayo near Killala.) During this time, he worked as a shepherd, outdoors and away from people. Lonely and afraid, he turned to his religion for solace, becoming a devout Christian. (It is also believed that Patrick first began to dream of converting the Irish people to Christianity during his captivity.)

Guided By Visions
After more than six years as a prisoner, Patrick escaped. According to his writing, a voice-which he believed to be God's-spoke to him in a dream, telling him it was time to leave Ireland.

To do so, Patrick walked nearly 200 miles from County Mayo, where it is believed he was held, to the Irish coast. After escaping to Britain, Patrick reported that he experienced a second revelation-an angel in a dream tells him to return to Ireland as a missionary. Soon after, Patrick began religious training, a course of study that lasted more than fifteen years. After his ordination as a priest, he was sent to Ireland with a dual mission-to minister to Christians already living in Ireland and to begin to convert the Irish. (Interestingly, this mission contradicts the widely held notion that Patrick introduced Christianity to Ireland.)

Bonfires and Crosses
Familiar with the Irish language and culture, Patrick chose to incorporate traditional ritual into his lessons of Christianity instead of attempting to eradicate native Irish beliefs. For instance, he used bonfires to celebrate Easter since the Irish were used to honoring their gods with fire. He also superimposed a sun, a powerful Irish symbol, onto the Christian cross to create what is now called a Celtic cross, so that veneration of the symbol would seem more natural to the Irish. (Although there were a small number of Christians on the island when Patrick arrived, most Irish practiced a nature-based pagan religion. The Irish culture centered around a rich tradition of oral legend and myth. When this is considered, it is no surprise that the story of Patrick's life became exaggerated over the centuries-spinning exciting tales to remember history has always been a part of the Irish way of life.)

Contrary to hope, in hope -- believe!

I saw this on the Elijah List and thought it was so good. Romans 4:18

The enemy has launched a new version of an old "terrorist attack" on the Body of Christ in recent time, which contains a spirit of hopelessness for the future. This attack is to try and cause us to believe we don't even have a future. Well, the enemy is a liar. Contrary to whatever the enemy is trying to show you to hope for, believe in the God of all hope, for He is on your side! Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God knows the plans He has for us, to give us hope and a future!

If you are going through a crisis in your life or are just at a crossroads in your faith, you are not alone. Every human being goes through times of anxiety, fear and concern. But don't give up or give in to a spirit of depression or hopelessness. Like Abraham did, "CONTRARY to hope, in hope BELIEVE!"

The Lord is into miracles. Jesus ruined every funeral He came across! So even if you have received a "death sentence" of some sort, know that your hope is in the Lord--the God of all hope! "Now may the God of hope FILL you with all JOY and PEACE in BELIEVING, that you may abound in HOPE, by the power of the Holy Spirit!" (Romans 15:13)

Everyone's Sick

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/R7DuVDI1qwI/AAAAAAAAAHU/ukUgTjlVzQs/s320/IMG_8036.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5165890817981000450" />
Last night, our whole family woke up violently ill. It leaned more towards the breezy type of wind from God - the gentle, refreshing wind. The kind of wind that is welcomed and soothing.

A few days ago, there were winds here in our town that were extreme. I believe the news said that the winds were up to 60 miles per hour.

We have a tree line behind our house. There are some dead bits that are still standing. One lady 2 doors down from us had been meaning to have the owners of the tree line come out to remove a dead tree. However, meaning to was not good enough for the winds. They took the tree right down and in the mean time, did some small damage to the house. The winds were gracious not to blow the tree right on top of her house to create even more damage.

I think this is often the type of wind of God that we don't want to think about or talk about. The kind of wind that has force and can be scary. The kind of wind that sweeps through our lives and says, this dead bit needs to be blown over - taken down. It doesn't belong here any more. It's not a peaceful wind, but there is peace in the wind. The peace that reminds us that God has it under control and He's not intending on doing damage to the good things that He's placed in our lives, but the things that we are holding onto that we need to let die - the things we've been meaning to get to in our lives that we haven't yet. This wind comes in force sometimes in our lives and takes down the old and the dead.

But after the winds, there is even another peace that says Thank You Lord for your grace and mercy and your willingness not to leave me as I am.

Let the winds blow...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/R6fWUMLsLZI/AAAAAAAAAHM/JPYgjpky9vg/s320/IMG_8002.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5163331140159548818" />

Get Away

Ever feel like getting away from the chaos of life? Last Friday was my last day as a "Corporate America" girl. We took the step of faith, and I am now a stay at home mom/employee of Lucas Parry. It's quite exhilarating and also a bit scary, but with God's hand holding ours, we'll take this journey.

This morning we had our first business meeting with strategies, to dos, what nexts and budgets. I'm quite enjoying my new line of business. It's also great to take a break to wipe a snotty nose or dance to the Wiggles with my adorable little son.

Thank You, Lord, for this new venture. As a matter of fact, all 3 of us have been sick.

It started last Wed for Liam. He had a little stuffy nose, so I took him home instead of going to youth group that night. I'm glad I did because he was a little cranky which really made me know that he wasn't well. Then Friday night, I had a bit of a sore throat that graduated into extreme chest congestion with an annoying "seal" cough. Sunday night, Lucas ends up feeling REALLY bad. The entire next day, Johny and him became great friends.

Update? Lucas was better within about 12 hours. Liam had a high fever Monday night which broke Tues night. I stayed home from work on Tues and Wed to try to fight my cough. I'm feeling a bit better now, but still on the mend.

Liam is having to take cold and cough medicine for the first time - poor tiger! Even though his fever is over, he is still fighting congestion.

So that is the tale of the Parrys over the last few days - pretty pathetic I know. My word of advice, when you have a young family, don't all get sick at the same time and esp don't all get sick with 3 different things at the same time!!! Can anyone say Lysol?

Can't Sit Down

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/RsffrX9XgCI/AAAAAAAAAGE/9zB65j9oaUQ/s320/mikefarris.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5100291039279153186" />
Tonight, I was able to get away with a dear friend, Tree, to go to a concert in this little place downtown Nashville called The Basement. It was a cozy little place and smoke free!! My friend Kevin at work told me about this fanominal band that his friend plays with. The guy had a great testimony of playing in rock bands and then one day getting saved. He now plays this New Orleans Jazz meets Southern Gospel Crusade music. It's quite different, but I really enjoyed it! I loved the style! But I think the thing I loved the most is that it wasn't typical Christian music that is out there today. Anyone could listen to it. He had such an anointing as well - at one point my friend Tree leaned over to me and said - I thought we were going to have church here tonight! He was just top notch and had tremendous stage presence. Thank you Lucas for sacrificing your Sat night to watch Liam while I was able to go out and enjoy such amazing musicianship that was really worshipful!

Check out Mike Farris.

Amazing Insight

I was reading through some folks blogs today and found some AMAZING motivational posters from Grace. A fun night reminiscent of the 80s! My homefry, Theresa, and a few of her friends threw the event in a park near by. All week I have been stoked for the event. The night was Ace! The music was bangin'! Lucas' outfit was totally boss, and I was a hairbear with my bangs curled to the sky. When I was first buying the jewelry for my outfit - I was like, barf me out! But then I remembered back and I was like - this is totally awesome. Will I get the jewelry? Definitely! We had a totally bodacious night, fer sure.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/RrXnF7qKk9I/AAAAAAAAAFc/2OTA2Atk2SQ/s320/612.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5095232642539492306" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/RrXnGLqKk-I/AAAAAAAAAFk/9Td_TyL5PWk/s320/642.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5095232646834459618" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/RrXnGbqKk_I/AAAAAAAAAFs/oMxoRL0ltqU/s320/676.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5095232651129426930" />

30/40/80

Cousin Jeremy turned 30, Uncle Steve turned 40 and Granddad Hughes turned 80! Well, we'll just keep the hacky circle of cousins in our memories of ole and try not to break our bones next time.

It's always good getting together with family, remembering where you came from, chat about where you're going and knowing that no matter what, we all stick together.

Chi-Town Reunion

On Sunday, we received a call from Lucas' sister saying that her and her husband would be visiting us in TN. We were so excited... When will you be visiting??? Tomorrow! So, Monday night, Michelle and her pregnant belly arrived with Mike on our front door stoop. It was so good having them. We even got to teach them a game that we got them for Christmas - San Juan - good times.

Tomorrow morning bright and early, we head back to Chicago for a family reunion/birthday parties. There were four cousins (including me) that turned 30 this year. My uncle turned 40 and my Granddad turned 80! I think Liam is looking forward to playing with his cousin Hannah and his 2nd cousin twins.

I'll let you know how it goes and post photos on the flip side of the weekend.

In the mean time - if you are having a bad day, visit my friend's blog - it's on the side there named Sunshine Schemozzle. However, I still haven't quite figured out if spontaneity is a word and how to spell it! : )

We started our journeys out to Murfreesboro for a blue grass festival. It was a great cultural experience! Not only were there fantastic musicians of all ages, there were also tap dancers and cloggers. It was a great stop!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_SlitubcUi5U/RpqBEiWFviI/AAAAAAAAAGw/VFU4jNXrcGo/s320/147.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5087520644007312930" />

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_SlitubcUi5U/RpqBRCWFvjI/AAAAAAAAAG4/HSCiwVlPf7o/s320/161.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5087520858755677746" />

We then went to Don Pablos for dinner. That was very spontaneous! Our waiter got everything wrong the entire time. Very spontaneous waiter!

Next we headed to The Arrington Vineyards. Arrington Vineyards actually opened to the public about 2 weeks ago. they grow their own grapes and bottle on the property. We even tasted a wine that was bottled the previous day.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_SlitubcUi5U/RpqBryWFvkI/AAAAAAAAAHA/kWM_SJ2_oRg/s320/173.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5087521318317178434" />

They let us taste about 10 different wines. I liked the whites better than the reds this time. However, there was a delicious raspberry dessert wine that was very tasty. I would definitely try that one again!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_SlitubcUi5U/RpqCFiWFvlI/AAAAAAAAAHI/xf9KVsTLTkA/s320/189.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5087521760698809938" />

By the time we were done tasting, I had reached my limits. The Krejcis and the Parrys each bought a bottle of white wine. Marc, Lisa and Lucas made a valiant effort at finishing one of them, but didn't quite make it all the way through. We brought our bottle home for another night.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/Rptbi4CGbQI/AAAAAAAAAEc/eO3dc-Dpaao/s320/169.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5087760858759982338" />

We then headed back to our house to watch a few episodes of Lost. (the Krejcis have finally turned to the dark side and decided to get into them! - suckers! : ) On our way home though, the spontanaity did not cease. We were almost about to turn into our development when Lucas said he was in the mood for pizza. Marc said that he was in the mood for ice cream. So we passed our place and headed for Guisseppis. Lucas got out of the car and ordered us a pizza. We then took the rest of the clan to Food Lion to get some ice cream. Lisa chose snickers and vanilla. Good choices.

We went back to the house, watched Lost, ate pizza and ice cream and I fell asleep during the second episode. Everyone else was placing dibs that I would fall asleep in the first - so I made it though! : )

And that was the end to a spontaneous day! Hope you enjoyed and are inspired to be spontaneous as well!

Spontaneity!

Tonight my dear friend called who just got a mini van (sucked into the new parenting trap). Names and addresses are being gathered from China to Colombia and from Cuba to the Middle East and submitted to The Voice of the Martyrs for what could become one of the most significant ministry outreaches of our time.

By becoming a member of Bibles Unbound, you will be able to mail New Testaments from your own home directly to communities where your persecuted brothers and sisters are now courageously witnessing.

Simply sign up at www.BiblesUnbound.com, and commit to participate in one or more ministry operations. Each month you will receive five or more New Testaments in the appropriate language along with corresponding address labels, a description of the operation(s), packaging and the necessary postage to mail each Bible into the assigned restricted nation.

You are then able to follow your Bible mailings online where you will be able to access an archive of all the individuals to whom you have mailed a New Testament, along with updated information and testimonies that are direct results of the mailings. An online map displays the nations to which you have sent Bibles, becoming a permanent reminder of your partnership in serving alongside today's persecuted church.

For each donation of only $30.00 per month you will receive a package of five Bible mailings and everything you need to participate in the program. You can select your own operation or have The Voice of the Martyrs select one for you.

"Remember those in bonds as bound with them." -Hebrews 13:3

Christians in today's hostile countries are frequently beaten or arrested for sharing their faith in Jesus Christ. However, they will not back down. They are ready to share their faith with curious neighbors, co-workers and even those opposed to the gospel. Until recently, all that most Christians in the free world could do was pray for their safety and courageous efforts. Now through Bibles Unbound, we can put actions to our prayers by partnering with them in the direct distribution of New Testaments.

"It is often difficult and dangerous to speak openly about my faith. That's why the Bibles Unbound program is so important to me. I know everyone in my village enjoys getting mail and loves to read, so when they get a New Testament in the mail, they are intrigued, and many will begin to read it. Then when I, or others from our church, speak to them about Christ, they will have questions because of the New Testament that was already sent to them. Thank you for this incredible program that helps us further the gospel of Jesus Christ."
-Wu Xiong, a former prisoner for Christ and a leader of a Chinese house church

Would you like to be a part of this exciting program and assist your persecuted brothers and sisters as they boldly share their faith?

Join Bibles Unbound today!
www.biblesunbound.com

The Call

On 07.07.07 Christians from across America will gather in
Nashville for a massive solemn assembly to fast and pray...

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/RobSCrs2aiI/AAAAAAAAAEE/6piB3_KtaPw/s320/brochure1-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5081980173066594850" />

For more information, check out www.thecall.com

Our Trip to the Beach

Last weekend we took an excursion with our dear friends and their children. It seems these days that it's one of the few times in a day that I get to have time to myself to think and pray.

Today was no different...

A friend of mine at work had sent me a disturbing email about Muslims and a demonstration they had recently in Europe. They carried terrible signs that said things like bomb those who are not Muslim and things of this nature. I remembered reading through the Koran years ago and realizing that the god they serve is one of works and deeds - a god who lacks love. I was then thinking of all that is going on in the Middle East today. My friend was frustrated because she wants to pray for peace in the Middle East, but thinks in some ways what is happening is inevitable. I responded to her that maybe instead of praying for peace in the world's standards, we ought to pray for peace in man's heart in the Middle East, that God would reveal Himself to them.

Then I started thinking about a few friends that are unsaved and a few others that have been hurt deeply in the past. I began thinking about my life and what changed my heart.

All of the these equations had the same solution... Love. Love is the only thing that can solve all of these dilemmas. All of the sudden without warning, I had a light bulb turn on in my spirit. It was something that I had known for years - maybe even all my life, but this time, it illuminated. God is Love. His very name is the essence of true love. A love with no strings attached. A love with no hidden agendas except to love and see lives changed through love. A love that lays down all that it had been through and sees only through pure vision. A love that sees the fullest potential in someone and loves enough to see them through. A love that is so contagious that simply being in its presence changes your very being and causes you to in turn love others.

What does the world need? It needs God. Why does the world need God, because only love can mend the broken hearted. Only love can turn a man's heart. Only love can make foes friends. Only love can melt the hardest of hearts. The world needs God.

Wonder Bread

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/RmiThnetlAI/AAAAAAAAADU/VShiQM61wC0/s320/wonderbread_toast.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5073467185975628802" />
If you have to wonder about your bread - maybe it's not a good thing.

Playground

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/Rl9hIC_MVDI/AAAAAAAAACM/S9Sd6bTnZhc/s320/IMG_4591.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5070878496311235634" />

We took Liam to the playground for the first time. This group was actually honest about a break up. He was hurt because he put his heart out there to love, and it was rejected. Most songs about breakups are filled with bitterness, slamming the other person, or putting up a wall saying something like you just don't know by me - I can have another you in a minute so don't get to thinking your irreplaceable. These kind of songs mask how people are really feeling. They cover the hurt instead of saying it real - you hurt me and I was just trying to love you.

I think if we were more honest with the fact that we are trying to love and sometimes we do get hurt in the process, we would be less bitter and more willing to face the hurt and heal from it instead of then turning around and hurting someone else.

Character

Watching America's Top Model once again and found a great life lesson...

Tyra Banks, top model, hosts the show and takes the girls through their journey of becoming America's Top Model. This week, there was a girl that seemed to grate on everyone and was in it simply for the win. Tyra addressed it in a way that was so beautiful and able to expand character.

Tyra had the girl sit in front of all the other girls. The other contestants were then to one at a time tell this girl what she had done to grate on them. The girl listened and took all of the criticism in. Tyra then gave the girl a chance to address the other girls. She broke down. Her response was, I'm so sorry! In tears she said how she has been so hurt in her life and has only truly felt loved by her husband and son. Tyra said words of wisdom, "hurt people hurt people". She was able to address the girl and say, you know how it feels to be hurt and yet in defense you hurt others. If you don't get anything else out of this competition, I hope that you will take this away with you.

It made me think... before I "judge" someone for the way that they have treated me or others, I might need to simply stop and think, why did that person act that way? Most people are not cruel just to be cruel. Most times something has happened to them to cause them to act or respond a certain way. Lord, help me to look deeper and see people how You see them and love them.

Junk Mail and Tornados

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/RhMYmQ4JjVI/AAAAAAAAABM/5d95VisJVxY/s320/images.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5049406652857027922" />
I got the best junk mail of all time today - it was a membership request for me to sign up for AARP! My dad and I always used to joke about AARP and he is now a member. I just turned 30 so I thought I was getting old - but not that old! HA!

In other news, there were tornado warnings tonight in Middle TN. I really don't like tornados. They really kinda freak me out actually. Last year, I got caught driving in hail and couldn't see 2 feet in front of me. I was driving so slow thinking wow - a tornado could be right in front of me and I would have no clue because I can't see a thing! I was in my first tri-mester at the time and thought - this could be it. My car still has dents in it as proof to the severity of the storm. When I got home, it looked like it had snowed when actually, there were hail balls the size of the big high bounce balls scattered all over my lawn. I put some in a jar and put them in the freezer just incase anyone didn't believe me. Then, the next hail storm experience last year took place at an air show. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/RhMXLA4JjUI/AAAAAAAAABE/6RN5io-9ebA/s320/Airshow+06+-+1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5049405085193964866" /> We were all chilling on the air field when they postponed the show due to thunder. Next thing you know, the air temperature drops like 10 or so degrees and then it starts raining hard. Lucky I had an umbrella because it was really hot that day and I was still pregnant - this time entering my 3rd trimester. The rain quickly turned to hail as I crouched under the umbrella with a good friend of mine. We decided we needed to find shelter so we ran towards the port-a-lues. Lucky we didn't hide in the port-a-lues because when it was all done, there were 3 of them that blew over! How gross would that have been!!! We instead hid behind a big truck. It helped keep some of the hail off of us, but not all. It was super scary! And then tonight, Lucas was out delivering pizzas when the wind really kicked up. The news just said it was about 40 miles per hour! That's almost 65 km per hour for you Aussies!! Anyways - as Lucas was driving home from his last run, there was a HUGE branch in the road. So big that he couldn't pass it with the car. He had to stop the car, push the door open with all his might and then make his way to the branch to remove it from the road. He said he had to remove his hat because of the wind. Yeah - I'm not too fond of tornado weather! Pretty freaky stuff.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/RhMZ4A4JjWI/AAAAAAAAABU/v0I71gUTF0I/s320/images.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5049408057311333730" />
I did, however, learn a little tip when it comes to tornadoes. You should open your windows a crack and leave them open during the storm. This helps so there is not that much negative pressure in the house which if severe can cause the roof to collapse in. So tip for the day - in tornado type weather, always keep your windows open a crack and then make sure you have a safe place in the house to go. It should be the middle most room and should not have any windows. If it's a bathroom, get in the tub and put a mattress over top of you. You can keep some bottled water in there with you with a flashlight and a radio operated on batteries. This way - you can listen to the radio for weather updates.

The Body

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/RhG9WHX4X3I/AAAAAAAAAA8/EI1D4nlCKwY/s320/170px-Stick_Figure.svg.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5049024844893020018" />
Today, Lucas and I went for a walk. Going for a walk in our development is not very productive... There are always neighbors out that you stop and say g-day to.

On our 4th stop of saying hi to neighbors, we stopped for a while and really chatted.

They are actually our dear friends. They are having to make some big decisions in life at the moment and are really seeking God for His perfect path.

A prophetic word is probably what they are really looking for - someone to say Thus Sayith God and they would know what direction to go.

My friend was joking and said - do you guys have a prophetic word? We told them we could make one up if they wished - but didn't think that would help.

Anyways - here is where I'm going with this... I think we all have a very important part in the body of Christ. I also think that one day we might be one part of the body and another day we could be something different. In other words, somedays - I could be the mouth and use my prophetic giftings when the next day, I need to be the hands and serve someone in need. Another day, I can be the heart caring for another with sincerity. Even though I have a prophetic gifting, I don't necessarily always have to be a mouth.

In my friends situation, I felt like I was supposed to be the ears tonight. Maybe tomorrow I'll be the mouth or the eyes, but I still don't think I can fully say - Thus Sayith God do this or that at this point. I think for now, God has me as one who will listen and give insight when I feel led.

Listen to the Spirit when He's telling you what part of the body you should be for that very moment!

Introducing Liam

Here's some photos of one of the cutest kids we know. It was down to the final 3. Each girl wanted to win.

The one girl that didn't make the top 2 had a great story. She was a bit of a "nerd" with glasses, never very popular, unsure of herself and not all that pretty. Throughout the process of the season, the judges and photographers always had amazing things to say about her. They commented on her looks and her poses and how lovely she was. You could totally see the transformation of this girl from being awkward, mild and unsure of herself to almost becoming the next top model. By this episode, she was so much more sure of herself, more beautiful and a better person all around.

I think the lesson is, when we are uncertain of who we are or how we look, then stand in the presence of encouragement for some time, it transforms us.

It is like the Shulamite in Song of Solomon. She was dark and not lovely. She spend some time in the presence of the king with encouragement that would make any girl blush. And the result? She was envied among women and all spoke of her beauty.

Next time you are unsure of yourself, spend some time in the presence of The King and receive His encouragement for you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, He formed you in the womb, He rejoices over you with love. It will change your very being.

Lucas home from Uganda

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_0BPIGkt1Umc/Rg2wfXX4X2I/AAAAAAAAAA0/555Fklw8dYI/s320/IMG_3378.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5047884810248806242" />
Lucas is finally back from Uganda. Liam was so excited to see his daddy. He slept on the way home from the airport, but when they got home, Liam opened one eye and saw Lucas, he then proceeded to open both eyes very wide and smile the biggest cutest smile ever. He then reached out his hands for Lucas. Now mind you - Liam is still a bit small to be doing that and hasn't done it yet or since. He must have really missed his dad. We all did!

To find out more about his trip - check out http://lucasparry.com/blog/. Lucas is going to be writing down his days in Uganda over the next 2 weeks. The team has been awesome and have gelled together so well. We have been joined by another small international team from the UK and some other Americans who have been here for 6 months. They have helped put together the concerts and all the schools visits and such.

Its HOT here...... being on the equator is stifling indeed :) Kampala is the most western African city I have ever been too. People now carry cell phones around everywhere.... how things have changed in the past 7 years!!! The people are very friendly here and everyone speaks English.

The team is split up in various houses. I'm staying with the Leader from ICY in the UK , Colin..... We are staying in the most basic of all 3 houses. We have only cold water and a bathroom which only sometimes works :) And Colin snores like a madman. I could of sworn there was a herd of Elephants in my room last night being attacked by lions!!! One of the Americans living here generously donated me a pair of earplugs :) So the last 2 nights I have slept like a baby under my mozzie net :)

The roads are ever so crazy. Its always a leap of faith entering a taxi! Or Mutato as they call it here....... The roads are so congested and there are literally NO road rules :) Ahhh,,,,, this is why I love africa! lol.

The food has been great, lots of frest bananas, pineapple, plenty of chicken (real live chicken), potatoes and rice..... Actually they also have lots of Chapati here (its indian). For brekky we'll have toast and peanut butter with bananas. Lunch is usually a sandwich then dinner varies but usuallly meat and rice/potatoes. We have a cook at the ICY mission house who cooks for us.

We went to a cultural show the other day,. It was awesome, lots of singing/dancing and other crazy Ugandan stuff.

So far we have been Very busy. We've visited 4 schools already and each of them have been packed wall to wall with kids hanging ot the windows. Tonight we visit the prison for teens and play songs do dramas and share testimonies. We have another church service tonight also. Last sunday we performed at 3 church services from 7:30 - 2pm It was LONNNNNG! The big concerts begin on Friday, we are expecting a massive turnout. Its funny all around the city there are posters of me.... Ha! I laugh each time I see one. God has been very gracious and given this trip So much favor. I have done live TV interviews on two different programs, and 4 radio interviews. Plus a big press conference with every newspaper in town..... its been awesome to see the response to my music here :) I really don't know why?? but it is neat to see :)

On Sunday we play at a church that has over 15000 members.... I play at 4 services.

Half my band is from the US, Justin and Forrest. But the others are Ugandan! We have been in rehearsals each morning, and they've been great! I am so excited to get these concerts underway :) The Ugandan band were so organized and prepared, they knew all my songs and it made practice SO easy!!

Tomorrow we visit Watoto orphanage then on Saturday I visit my compassion Child here in Kampala - I cant wait for that!!

Ive been taking lots of pictures and video.....I will share when I get home.

My time is running out here at the Internet cafe so I must run. Next week we'll go on Safari then head home.

Thanks for your prayers, we have much to do before we leave for home, and we're praying that the concerts will be huge and many people will come to know Jesus!

Love you all!

Lucas

Psalm 102:1-2 (The Message)
God, listen! Listen to my prayer, listen to the pain in my cries.
Don't turn your back on me just when I need you so desperately.
Pay attention! This is a cry for help! And hurry—this can't wait!

This is how I felt the other night. The Message captured my emotion so well!

Lucas is currently in Uganda, Africa leading a missions trip for 2 weeks. On Monday night, I felt an overwhelming and unswerving desire to pray hard for Lucas especially and the team. I started crying out to God not knowing what to pray for and then a bit in the Spirit. I felt like I was fighting but not sure what I was waring against.

And Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. Ephesians 6:18 NIV

Then suddenly without warning, the war stopped, and I felt God say, stop praying. I thought, that's weird. Why do I need to stop? I'm not even sure why I started? Why did it end suddenly? What was going on?

I didn't hear from Lucas the next day, and I started getting worried. I began letting my thoughts drift off to a place I don't like to go. What if something happened to Lucas?! I would be a single parent having to assure Liam of his daddy's love. And oh how daddy loves that boy!!! I began thinking of fun times and how much I love him and how I couldn't bare losing him. I began to pray again, but this time for my own benefit and not with the prior urgent need. This reflection also taught me to embrace the moments and to love until it hurts. Take advantage of times I do have with Lucas and Liam and those around me that I love.

I did hear from Lucas this morning - PRAISE YOU, JESUS! He said he was woken up and under attack in the spiritual realm. He thanked me for my prayers because he said it was pretty intense. If you think about it, pray for Lucas and team around 7pm CST while he is gone for protection, safety and God's grace.

Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry for help, and he will say, Here I am. There were so many seasons to go through...
Lucas in Australia during my first trimester, surviving 2 hail storms, being in a cyclone, rejoicing with my sister as she had the first grandchild on my side of the family, going through pregnancy with some dear friends and learning about our changing bodies together, Lucas getting mono, me going on partial bedrest, finding out I needed a c-section, welcoming my son into the world...
The joys, the pains, the sorrows, the fears.

Seasons don't last long. Whether its a good season or a difficult season, every moment should be cherished.
